The UK Clinical Cohorts (UK CliC) Trusted Research Environment is a secure platform that allows clinical cohort data to be stored and linked with routinely collected NHS data. Researchers can access this anonymised linked cohort data for cardiovascular and metabolic research.
Hosted within the SAIL Databank, UK CliC streamlines the journey from cohort data collection through to onward sharing, accelerating impactful research while protecting participant privacy at every step.

Who can use UK CliC?
Cohort owners can apply to use UK CliC both to:
- allow linkage of cohort data to other types of health data, enriching the cohort data and supporting health research for public benefit
- and to allow sharing of this linked data in an anonymised way for other approved researchers
Approved researchers can apply to use linked Cohort Datasets to help answer research questions for public benefit.
