UK CliC TRE: For researchers

• Use the Data dashboard to identify relevant data for your research study in UK CliC. Available data will be: 

• • Cohort study data 

• • Cohort study data linked with NHS data  

Please note: Linked Cohort data for NHS England is only available for UK based researchers.

Our team can support you as you develop your research proposal: 

• Feasibility assessments 

• Data engineering and data curation services 

• Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) 

The UK CliC team work with SAIL Databank to provide costs based on the activities and resources required for your study. 

• Access to data in UK CliC follows the SAIL Databank ‘Data Access Process’. 

• If you are applying to use linked NHS England data, researchers should demonstrate potential benefits to health and/or social care in England as described in UK CliC NHS England guidance.  

• Researchers must have completed safe researcher training before they are given access to the requested data in the TRE 

• Approved BHF Data Science Centre team member(s) will be granted access by the SAIL team, where data curation and engineering support has been agreed 

• Data cannot be downloaded directly from the TRE. All outputs undergo disclosure control checks by the SAIL Databank team before they are released for publication or sharing
