Lauren is an Early Career Health Data Scientist, providing data management and curation support across the national Trusted Research Environments.
Credentials:
Lauren completed her PhD in cancer epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology at Queen’s University Belfast. Her research investigated associations between hormone-modulating drugs and the risk and progression of breast and gynaecological cancers.
Prior to joining the BHF Data Science Centre, Lauren was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Public Health, QUB, where she led a multi-country research project evaluating fertility and survival outcomes among premenopausal endometrial cancer patients treated non-surgically with progestin therapy compared with surgical treatment, using electronic health data from across Europe. She also supported the development of the UK’s first endometrial hyperplasia register using data from the Northern Ireland Cancer Registry.
