Professor Spiros Denaxas was the BHF Data Science Centre Associate Director and Theme Lead for Defining Disease.
The focus of Spiros’s theme was to create computer-friendly information to better define cardiovascular disease. These were added to an open Phenotype Library – a directory of tools and guides to speed up understanding of disease.

Spiros Denaxas is Professor of Biomedical Informatics based at the Institute of Health Informatics.
His research (http://denaxaslab.org) focuses on creating and evaluating algorithms for phenotyping, risk prediction, data modelling, and disease subtype discovery in structured electronic health records, clinical and omics data.
